VISITORS & MEMBERS //

VISITORS

Individuals not affiliated with the University of the Arts who wish to visit the University Libraries must request an appointment ahead of time and may visit between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Mondays through Fridays. Requests for access outside of those hours must be approved in advance and may not be granted.

MEMBERS

Individuals not affiliated with the University of the Arts who wish to access the University Libraries on a regular basis and wish to borrow materials must apply for a membership at the cost of $50.00 for six months. If membership is approved, members must put a credit card on file.

Memberships are for borrowing and access only. Members do not have off-campus access to the UArts Libraries subscription databases (i.e., anything that requires a log-in), and may not use interlibrary loan service or carry overdue fines.

A VISA, MasterCard, or American Express credit card receipt will be kept on file. VISA debit cards are acceptable. The credit card expiration date must be more than seven months from the current date. The credit card is not used for fines, but only as a form of security should the library need to bill for unreturned materials. Membership fees and overdue fines must be paid at the Greenfield Library Circulation Desk with cash, a check (made out to University of the Arts), or a credit card.

Members may use the Libraries between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Mondays through Fridays. Requests for access outside of those hours must be approved in advance and may not be granted.

Members may check out up to 5 items at one time for the periods listed below.

Circulating books, scores, pictures  3 weeks
CDs, DVDs, VHS, LPs, audiotapes 2 hours, in-library use only

Members may renew books, scores, and pictures once if they are not needed by another library patron. Library materials are university property and should be cared for accordingly.

Should library materials be more than one month overdue, the University Libraries will use the credit card slip placed on file to bill you. Unreturned materials are billed at the minimum replacement fee of $115.00 ($100.00 minimum for the item plus a $15.00 processing fee). Patrons who have been billed in this manner will be denied future borrowing privileges.

NON-MATRICULATED CONTINUING STUDIES STUDENTS

Continuing Studies (CS) students may access the Libraries during all posted hours by displaying their CS identification card at building entrances. CS students who wish to borrow library materials must apply for a membership at the cost of $25.00 for six months. A credit card must also be put on file.

Memberships are for borrowing and access only. CS members do not have off-campus access to the UArts Libraries subscription databases (i.e., anything that requires a log-in), and may not use interlibrary loan service or carry overdue fines.
